Description

A creamy, savory hot dip featuring sweet Vidalia onions and melted Swiss cheese. Easy to bake and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 dash hot sauce, or to taste
  • 2 cups Vidalia sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) to ensure it is at the correct temperature for baking.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, shredded Swiss cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and a dash of hot sauce. Mix well until the base is smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the thinly sliced Vidalia onions until they are evenly coated with the cheese mixture.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or casserole dish, spreading it out into an even layer.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow the dip to cool for about 10 minutes before serving to let the texture set.

Notes

If you cannot find Vidalia onions, use another variety of sweet onion like Walla Walla or Maui. Ensure onions are sliced very thin for the best texture.
