Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled if fresh
  • 1 medium ripe banana, broken into chunks
  • 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 cup orange juice, preferably fresh-squeezed
  • 1 cup ice cubes (68 cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Place strawberries in the blender first. Break apart any frozen clumps with your hands.
  2. Add banana chunks on top of the strawberries. This creates the creamy foundation.
  3. Pour in yogurt, orange juice, and sweetener. The liquid helps everything circulate during blending.
  4. Add ice cubes last. Count them out for consistent results every time.
  5. Secure lid tightly. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then increase to high speed.
  6. Continue blending for 45 seconds until completely smooth. Listen for the sound to even out.
  7. Stop and scrape sides if needed. Blend another 15 seconds on high.
  8. Pour immediately into chilled glasses. Serve right away for best texture and temperature.
