Description
A comforting weeknight meal featuring spiced baked chicken and tender pasta tossed in a creamy, savory paprika sauce.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces farfalle pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 pound chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 2 teaspoons paprika (divided)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- A pinch of garlic powder
- A pinch of onion powder
- Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. If desired, brine the chicken in lukewarm salted water for 15 minutes, then pat dry.
- Place chicken in a baking dish, drizzle with olive oil, and rub with a mix of 1 teaspoon paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Bake for 18-20 minutes until cooked through (165°F). Rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
- Boil the farfalle pasta in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic for 2 minutes. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add wine and let it reduce. Gradually whisk in chicken broth, remaining 1 teaspoon paprika, and heavy cream. Simmer until the sauce thickens and coats a spoon.
- Stir in lemon juice and season with salt. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce. Top with sliced chicken and serve.
Notes
Substitute the white wine with extra chicken broth if desired. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes.
