Description
A creamy, nostalgic fudge recipe featuring the classic combination of bright orange citrus and sweet vanilla white chocolate.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup (168 g) evaporated milk
- 3 cups (600 g) granulated sugar
- 3 drops orange gel food coloring
- 1 package (12 ounces) white chocolate chips
- 3 teaspoons orange extract
- 3/4 cup (170 g) butter
- 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow fluff
Instructions
- Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, ensuring there is enough overhang to lift the fudge out later.
- Combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil while stirring.
- Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it reaches 234°F on a candy thermometer (approximately 5 minutes). Remove from heat immediately.
- Stir in the white chocolate chips until fully melted and smooth, then beat in the marshmallow fluff until combined.
- Reserve 1 cup of the white mixture and set it aside. Add the orange extract and food coloring to the remaining mixture in the pot and stir well.
- Pour the orange mixture into the prepared pan. Quickly drop spoonfuls of the reserved white mixture on top and swirl with a knife.
- Allow the fudge to cool and set at room temperature for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
Notes
Work quickly once the white chocolate is added, as the fudge begins to set rapidly. If you do not have a candy thermometer, use the cold water test: drop a small amount of syrup into cold water; if it forms a soft, flexible ball, it is ready.
