Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line 8×8 pan with parchment.
- Mix dry ingredients, cut in butter until crumbly, add egg and vanilla.
- Press half the mixture into pan.
- Toss strawberries with remaining ingredients, spoon over crust.
- Sprinkle remaining crumble on top.
- Bake 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool completely before cutting.
Notes
For the best texture, refrigerate bars for at least 1 hour after cooling to room temperature. Serve at room temperature for maximum flavor.
