Homemade Peach Ice Cream – Creamy, dreamy ice cream bursting with fresh peach flavor that captures summer in every spoonful.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped peaches (peel removed)
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar (divided)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix chopped peaches with 1/2 cup sugar in a medium bowl. Let sit for 15 minutes to release juices.
- Blend peach mixture in blender or food processor until smooth. Add 1/4 cup milk if needed for blending.
- In large bowl, combine peach puree with heavy cream, remaining milk, vanilla, and remaining 3/4 cup sugar. Mix well.
- Pour mixture into running ice cream maker and churn for 25-30 minutes according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Serve immediately for soft-serve consistency, or transfer to loaf pan and freeze 6 hours to overnight for scoopable ice cream.
Notes
- Choose ripe peaches that give slightly when pressed for best flavor
- Chill ice cream base for 30 minutes before churning for smoother texture
- Store covered in freezer for up to one month
