A rich, savory stuffing made with seasoned turkey sausage, fresh herbs, and perfectly seasoned bread cubes that creates the ultimate holiday side dish.
Ingredients
- 8 cups unseasoned bread stuffing cubes
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, diced (about 1½ cups)
- 3 celery stalks, diced (about 1 cup)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced fine
- 1 pound ground turkey sausage
- 2¾ cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Place stuffing cubes in a large mixing bowl.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and celery, cooking for 10 minutes until soft.
- Add garlic and cook 2 minutes more. Transfer vegetables to stuffing cubes.
- In same skillet, cook sausage for 10-12 minutes until browned, breaking into small pieces.
- Add sausage and rendered fat to stuffing mixture.
- Pour in broth and beaten egg, add herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly moistened.
- Transfer to prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake uncovered 70-80 minutes until golden and crispy on top.

- Can be assembled one day ahead and refrigerated
