Description

A fresh, flavorful salad combining crisp apples, candied walnuts, and tangy blue cheese.


Ingredients

  • 6 ounces mixed baby greens
  • 1 large Honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup raw walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add walnuts and brown sugar, stirring constantly for 3-4 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  • Combine olive oil, vinegar, maple syrup, mustard, salt, and pepper in a jar. Shake well.
  • Place greens in a large bowl. Top with apple slices, candied walnuts, blue cheese, cranberries, and onion.
  • Drizzle with dressing and toss gently before serving.

Notes

  • Slice apples just before serving to prevent browning
  • Candied walnuts can be made 3 days ahead
  • Substitute feta cheese for milder flavor
