Description

Watermelon Feta Cheese Bites – A refreshing summer appetizer combining sweet watermelon, creamy feta, and spicy honey for the perfect flavor balance.

Ingredients

  • 1 small watermelon (34 pounds), cut into 1-inch squares
  • 6 oz block feta cheese, sliced into 3/4-inch squares
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  • Pat watermelon squares dry with paper towels and arrange on serving platter.
  • Top each watermelon square with a piece of feta cheese, pressing gently to secure.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey and hot sauce until well combined.
  • Drizzle honey mixture over each bite using a spoon.
  • Finish with torn basil leaves and freshly cracked black pepper.
  • Serve immediately or chill for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use block feta cheese for best results – it slices cleanly and holds its shape
  • Adjust hot sauce to your preferred heat level
  • Can prep components separately up to 4 hours ahead, but assemble just before serving
  • For extra flavor, try adding a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt on top
  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
