- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish
- Toss sliced apples with brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt
- Transfer apple mixture to prepared dish
- Combine all topping ingredients, working in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
- Sprinkle topping over apples
- Bake 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling
- Cool 10 minutes before serving
