A rich, flavorful red pizza sauce that comes together in just 5 minutes with simple pantry ingredients.
Ingredients
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 1–2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ tablespoon garlic salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together tomato paste and tomato sauce until smooth and well combined.
- Add oregano, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, garlic salt, pepper, and sugar.
- Stir all ingredients until evenly distributed throughout the sauce.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.
- Spread generously on pizza dough and add your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Sauce can be stored in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 3 months
- Sugar helps balance the acidity of tomatoes but can be omitted if preferred
- For thicker sauce, add more tomato paste; for thinner consistency, add more tomato sauce
