Description

Slow Cooker Apple Butter – Rich, spiced apple butter made easily in your slow cooker with no peeling required.


Ingredients

  • 6 pounds mixed sweet apples, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Place chopped apples in slow cooker
  • Mix sugars and spices, then toss with apples
  • Cook covered on low for 8 hours
  • Puree with immersion blender until smooth
  • Stir in vanilla, cook uncovered 1-2 hours until thick
  • Cool and store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks

Notes

Choose softer apple varieties like Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp for best results. Apple butter will continue thickening as it cools.
