Description

A warming, comforting creamy cinnamon apple rice pudding that combines tender rice, sweet apples, and aromatic cinnamon into the perfect cozy dessert.


Ingredients

  • ¾ cup short-grain white rice
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 medium Honeycrisp apples, peeled and diced
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice apples, reserving a few thin slices for garnish.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine rice, milk, water, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Cook for 8-10 minutes more until apples are tender.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted.
  6. Serve warm in bowls, garnished with apple slices and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes

  • Stir frequently to prevent sticking
  • Add extra milk if pudding becomes too thick
