Description

Bourbon Pecan Peach Crisp – a comforting summer dessert featuring tender spiced peaches topped with a golden, crunchy pecan and oat topping with a hint of bourbon warmth.


Ingredients

Spiced Peach Base:

  • 3 pounds ripe peaches, sliced into wedges
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

Pecan Oat Topping:

  • 3/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Toss sliced peaches with bourbon, lemon juice, zest, and vanilla in the prepared dish. Let sit 10 minutes.
  3. Whisk together brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and cornstarch. Sprinkle over peaches and fold to coat evenly.
  4. Combine all topping ingredients except butter in a large bowl. Work in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Distribute topping evenly over peaches.
  6. Bake 50-55 minutes until golden brown and juices bubble around edges.
  7. Cool 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Choose peaches that yield slightly to pressure but aren’t mushy.
  • Frozen peaches work well, use 3 pounds and add an extra tablespoon of cornstarch.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for the ultimate summer dessert experience.
